History
Winchester Cold Storage’s Loudoun Street Complex, first of the three original buildings, was erected in 1917 to meet the requirements of Frederick County’s apple industry. At one point, WCS was the largest apple storage facility in the world, with a capacity of 1.5 million bushels of apples. Despite transitioning away from this particular line of business, our commitment to refrigerated storage remains unwavering.
