Food Safety / Compliance
Our Commitment to Food Safety and Quality Assurance
Since 2005, we have prioritized food safety and quality through a series of audits and certifications. Over the years, we have consistently achieved strong ratings in our inspections, demonstrating our commitment to maintaining high standards. Our proactive approach includes regular client audits and adherence to industry requirements, ensuring compliance with various regulatory bodies. Additionally, we have embraced recognized certification programs to further enhance our operations. This ongoing dedication reflects our mission to provide exceptional service and reliability in food storage and distribution.
We Ace Our Audits
In 2005-2016 we started doing ASI Food Safety’s storage and distribution audit and completed it annually for a total of 12 inspections. Of these 12 inspections, 9 times we received an Excellent rating (the highest score on this audit), the remainder being Good and Very Good.
Facilitating 2nd Party Audits
2008 to date we have facilitated an average of five 2nd Party (client) audits per year.
3rd Party Audits
2008-2010 as part of a client request for a special project, we had quarterly 3rd party audits with the Cocoa Merchants Association of America, and met all standards and requirements throughout the project.
Inspections
2013 to date we have been voluntarily receiving periodic unannounced inspections from Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services under both their “division of food and dairy” as well as their “division of meat and poultry”.
Certified Organic
In 2016, based on industry demand, we began certifying appropriate areas as organic through CCOF under the NOP Standard. Since this time we have remained certified and compliant for our customers.
BRC Certified
In 2017, we moved to the GFSI standards and became BRC Certified for storage and distribution initially through TUV, then by SAI Global (now Intertek). We have maintained a minimum of an A grading, mostly AA (with 1 AA+ on our unannounced inspection).
